The only way t o build a good opt – in list is to win people’s heart.  They have to trust you.  On the internet it is that more difficult. Trust building is a time consuming task.

Trust In Yourself

For new entrepreneurs it maybe very well the biggest obstacle to a successful online business. Unscrupulous internet marketers let many newbies believe that one can achieve instant online success. That is a myth.

You cannot start today your business and expects to be a successful online marketer the next day. What is true is that the faster you build your opt-in list the faster word about your site get spread and the faster you are propel to success.   Your bigger opt-in list leads to more traffic and that ensure more profits for you.

• Trust is build upon expertise.  One do not become an expert in a day, it is lifetime job.  Therefore, for people to trust you, you have to convey a surety, an approachable character an openness.  You have to build a system where you can communicate with your subscriber. You must become a trust worthy friend.

• Know your product. Give freely tips, guidelines, reviews and features of the products and services you provide.   Do not talk about science fiction if your subscribers want to hear about the art of scuba diving.  Stay with what you are good in.  Find new innovative ways to convey fresh quality ideas and products to your subscriber friends.

• Don’t exaggerate. If you have not tested a product,  do not make claims about their effectiveness.  The more satisfied subscriber friends you have the bigger probability that they will recommend you.  Think about it. You trust somebody.   Someone else is asking you about the person you trust.  Are you going to recommend that person or his service?  Absolutely! This is a sure way to build your opt-in list.

Are Your List Slipping Away?

• Provide your subscriber friends with an escape hatch.  Show them that you are not there to trap them.  Many possible opt-ins are wary that they may be stuck for life, or that they would have to abandon their email accounts.  I had such an experience.   I tried to unsubscribe from this person’s list, but their unsubscribe link was just taking me to another website.  I marked that as spam.

The trust of your subscriber friends are the most precious commodity on the net. Do not abuse your loyal friends trust by sharing or selling their email addresses.

The true quickest way to gain subscriber friends trust is when someone they trust recommends you.

I like to take this opportunity to tell you more about Claude and me.

Why tell you more about us? We had a heated discussion about how to build trust!

I want to send you emails, Claude said “NO WAYS!”

So the mystery remains! How do we build TRUST? Because that is what this opportunity is all about! In order for us to help you we need YOU to interact with us and to trust us.

Now me I’m completely the opposite. As an artistic soul I’m intrigue with the possibilities the net is offering. I do have different offline businesses but they are not any more challenging enough. The biggest draw back of the net (for me) is the fact that I cannot see the person I’m dealing with.

To talk to, to listen to and see the person I’m dealing with, I can make an assessment of this person’s needs and preferences. Not so with an online business – one is dealing with a blank screen, a dark void.
