If you have a blog where you want to reach more people and share your ideas, or an online business where you want more customers; (and who doesn’t want that?) you really need to be creating videos and uploading them for people to view!

Your competition is taking customers from you that have no idea you exist if they are uploading video and you are not. If they aren’t producing video for YouTube or their own sites then you need to make sure you get those customers they are missing.

Compete.com lists YouTube with 85 million unique visits in July of 2009! Just imagine what it could do for your site if you happened to create a viral video that got 100,000 views… 200,000 views…. 1 million views! A certain percentage of those people would visit your site and a percentage of those would sign up for your newsletter or buy something from you.

Now if my math is right, and you get 1 million views for a video and only 3% of those viewers visit your site that is 30 thousand visitors! If 3% of those signed up or bought something, that is 900 signups or sales! Sound good to you?

I know it’s very difficult to get a video with 1 million views, but take a look at YouTube and see what videos are that popular. Why do they become popular? What is great about them? It’s not the production value, it’s not because they have celebrities or cost a large amount of money to create.

These videos are crazy popular because they are extremely funny, or cool, or amazing for some reason. The videos can be planned out, but wildly popular vidoes are not outwardly selling anything, there is no pitch. If you want a video to have a chance at going viral, you can’t be selling in the video; you must let the video sell for you!

In door-to-door sales years ago we had a saying that you should “sell the sizzle, not the steak”. What does this mean to you? If I want to sell plant food, do I talk about the chemical composition and the different nutrients that are in it? NO! I don’t want to sell the customer on the fertilizer, I sell them on the end result my product gives them: BIG tomatoes, and that’s the sizzle!

Give the viewer something in your videos for free. We are a digital camera repair shop and can’t make videos about how to repair every camera, but your customers are looking for something regarding your business, so find out what it is and give it to them!

Teach them something, give them information they are looking for, entertain them. [If you become an authority on your subject your customers will happily tell others about you].

No need to spend thousands on professional video production, but they must be easy to watch and understand.

• Make sure your camcorder or digital camera records good quality video, and no it doesn’t have to be HD quality for YouTube!
• Make sure to have a good quality microphone. If your audio is awful then nobody is going to stick around and watch.
• Use a solid backdrop, don’t show your cluttered basement or office or bedroom unless this is part of your presentation
• Write a script or at least notes regarding what you want to say
• Practice and view your results before publishing it. Ask others for opinions and feedback!
• Yes, you will hate the sound of your own voice, but that is how you sound to the rest of us so don’t worry about it.

Traffic Strategy #4 – Using Private Label Rights (PLR)

This is very effective because you have the content. You don’t have to research the subject to write about it and you don’t have a blank page starring back at you. You have the content and a lot of times you can get a lot of that content. Then you can re-write it and target certain keyword phrases or pay someone to do this, preferably. You can usually hire freelance writers to do this for quite a bit cheaper than hiring them to write the content from scratch. Learn about Web Traffic Machines.

You can have the PLR material rewritten and submitted to article directories, post to blogs, submitted to Yahoo answers etc. The possibilities are endless.

Traffic Strategy #5 – Advertising on blogs or websites in your niche

There are thousands of blogs out there, so use them. There are a few different ways to do this. One way is to search and find a ton of different blogs in your niche. You can do web searches, but you can also find blogs in a lot of different social networking sites.

You can use any number of different sites, including Myspace. Just go to different groups. Sites like yahoo also have groups where you can find blogs or websites to advertise on.

Now there are usually a few different ways to advertise on people’s blogs or websites. You might be able to place a banner ad on their blog or website and you pay them monthly or whatever you work out. You may also be able to use text ads or work out another way to promote your blog or website like having the blogger review your site or product etc.

One of the best ways to get free traffic from the blogs is to start making comments on your market niche blog. Give useful and informative comments and you will find that many people would like to visit your site or blog too. Try not to spam while making your comments on the other blogs. First read the blogpost and the discussion that has been going on that blogpost.

Make informative comments that add to the discussion. I have used this method of making informative comments on other blogs to earn hundreds of dollars as affiliate commissions. Many people who click on your comment link after reading your comments are already prequalified to buy from you. Making comments on other blogs has another advantage too.
